The Ministry of Energy organizes an international forum on the management of civil servants
The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) hosted an international civil servant management forum on Tuesday 12/10 entitled “Building an Agile and Comprehensive Civil Servant”.
The head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), Prahoro Yulijanto Nurtjahjo, said that during the current period of disruption everyone, including public sector organizations, should react quickly to any changes. .
âIn today’s age of disruption, the acronym for VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) has been introduced to us. This means that everyone must react quickly to various changes. Public sector organizations should not adhere to rigid rules and operate like a machine. For this reason, we need officials who are agile, quick and adaptable, âPrahoro said.
Prahoro expected the international forum on civil service management to offer breakthroughs and more energetic, dynamic and flexible organizational management models that would create a responsive bureaucracy.
âTo develop strategies for creating civil servants with an adaptive and agile mindset, organizations must foster employee involvement and restructure. Agile human resources will ensure that an organization is ready to respond to dynamic changes. plans; instead, they are flexible and innovative, âPrahoro stressed.
According to Prahoro, the government should make efforts to improve the professionalism of civil servants so that they are competitive and respect the ethics of bureaucracy in service to the public.
“For this reason, the government must promote sustainable human resource development programs in a clear and consistent manner,” Prahoro concluded.
The international forum brought together speakers from various backgrounds. The first speaker was Astra International’s Head of Human Capital Development, Aloysius Budi, who gave a talk titled âBuilding Adaptive Bureaucratic Leadership with Global Vision and Entrepreneurshipâ. The second speaker was Puay Sze Lim, Director of the Leadership Development and International Relations Division of the Public Service, Prime Minister’s Office of Singapore, who delivered a speech titled âBuilding an Adaptive Organization in VUCA and the Digital Age “. The following lecture was presented by the head of the Agency for Financial Education and Training (BPPK) of the Ministry of Finance, Andean Hadiyanto, and the Director General of Employment Development, Tourism, Science and from Innovation, Government of Western Australia, Rebecca Brown, who presented âStrategies for Developing Public Servants with a Business Academic Approachâ. The last speaker was the head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), Bima Haria Wibisana, who gave a lecture titled âCivil Service Human Resource Management on the Basis of Talent Managementâ.
For the record, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo clarified that the development of civil servants is one of his work priorities. President Jowoki wants Indonesian civil servants to be exemplary in character according to a set of core values ââcalled âBERAKHLAKâ (service-oriented, responsible, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive and collaborative) and become world-class human resources.
