Native Minerals opens new frontier of exploration in Nullarbor

ASX-listed junior explorer Native Mineral Resources has opened a new exploration frontier in the Nullabor region of Western Australia after securing two key concessions in the region. The company will immediately begin a high-resolution magnetic survey on its new leases to help define new drill targets on the 195 square kilometer section of the remote Nullarbor Plain in the newly defined province of Madura.

Native Mineral Resources says it will focus its efforts on well-defined geophysical targets and speed up the delineation of prospects for a first drilling campaign.

The Nullarbor is the latest hotspot for undercover gold, copper and nickel mineralization revealed by pre-competitive, government-funded, taxpayer-funded geophysical data.

The Nullarbor is a flat, barren, mostly treeless plain located in southern Australia. Other than a little fun at the annual Nullarbor Muster and the daily Indian Pacific train ride, not much has happened since dream time.

Agreements have already been made with the Miring Traditional Lands Aboriginal Corporation and the Pila Nguru Aboriginal Corporation, which should allow the company to quickly get on the ground to undertake its own targeted high-resolution magnetic survey.

We expect our first round of geophysical surveys to begin this week. This new survey, along with historical geophysical data, will go a long way in refining our initial drill targets on these claims.

NMR has a busy exploration schedule planned for the coming months across its portfolio of projects and regular updates will be provided on exploration progress in due course.

The company says the structures seen in recent government-acquired seismic and magnetotelluric surveys are similar to Independence Group’s famed Nova-Bollinger deposit and other successful exploration targets discovered by Legend Mining in the adjacent Fraser Range.

Madura Province is now a hot property with BHP Nickel West, Rio Tinto, Red Metals, Maria Resources, Chalice Mining and SensOre all looking for new discoveries in the remote area.

Prior to the recently completed geophysical and stratigraphic drilling by federal and state geological surveys, the area had received little attention due to the extensive soil cover over the rocks of the potential basement.

Native Mineral Resources says it will be the first company to follow up on taxpayer-funded work by Geoscience Australia and the Geological Survey of Western Australia with the start of its high-resolution magnetic survey.

The company is constructing a pipeline of copper and gold projects, including near surface copper opportunities along the highly promising 130 km long Chillagoe Formation in Queensland and its expanding gold mineralization near the surface at Music Well in Western Australia. According to company management, its prospects in Madura province have a magneto-telluric signature that closely resembles God’s fingers at Olympic Dam.

Native Mineral Resources was established to search for copper and gold deposits in Queensland and gold deposits in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. With an exciting new mineral province within reach, Native Mineral Resources is vying to discover the first significant discovery in the legendary Nullarbor Plain in Western Australia.
