Minister of Planning urges NGOs to cooperate with government to develop qualified human resources

Planning Minister MA Mannan called on non-governmental organizations to collaborate with government initiatives to create skilled human resources, citing people as the best resource in the world.

The Minister made the comment while speaking as a guest of honor at a panel discussion on “Bangabandhu’s Philosophy of Human Development and Today’s Bangladesh: Perspective from the Centenary of the Birth of Mujib” organized by the Daffodil International University and the Bangladesh Society of Human Resource Management (BSHRM) on Wednesday, a press release said.

The program took place at the 71 auditorium of the Daffodil Education Network in Dhanmondi in the capital.

MA Mannan said: “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said to build people like golden people for Golden Bangladesh. In line with its ideals, the current government is also working to create skilled human resources. able to do so, non-governmental organizations must therefore come forward in addition to government initiatives.”

“It is true that there is unemployment in our country. There is also a shortage of skilled workers. There is still an 18% labor crisis in our garment sector. means that the type of education we have absorbed is not effective; the type of skills we have absorbed are not effective. That is why unemployment is rising. We need education and skills based on market demand. Everyone must work together on these issues,” added the Minister of Planning.

The Minister also stated that fairness and liberalism are essential to the development of human resources.

BSHRM President, Mr. Mashekur Rahman Khan delivered the keynote speech for the programme.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Daffodil University, Dr. Md Sabur Khan, and the Vice-Chancellor of the International Daffodil University, Prof. Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, were also present as special guests.

Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, Syed Ishtiaq Reza, Editor-in-Chief of Gazi Television, Prof Dr Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Dean of Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship at DIU, and Mr Nazrul Islam, Secretary General of BSHRM, were present as discussants.

Dr Md Sabur Khan said that Bangabandhu believed that human beings were wealth. We also need to focus on human resource development. Otherwise, there will be no real development in the country.
