Firebird Metals (FRB) has completed the infill drilling program at its flagship Oakover manganese project in Western Australia.

Drilling began on October 13 with 89 holes, for 3,000 meters, planned to extend the life of mine (LoM) by 10 years at the Karen and Jay-Eye deposits by converting inferred resources to the indicated category.

Currently, Karen and Jay-Eye have a combined inferred resource of 62.9 million tonnes.

Overall, 82 holes, for 2828 meters, have been drilled and assays are expected to be received within the next eight to 12 weeks.

Once received, Firebird will incorporate the results into an updated mineral resource estimate it expects to release in the first quarter of 2023.

The drill team has done a terrific job as we only launched the program a week ago,” said Managing Director Peter Allen.

“The assays are expected to be received within the next eight to 12 weeks and once we have reviewed and analyzed the results we will focus on working on an updated mineral resource estimate to increase the current 10 year mine life at Oakover. .”

Firebird was flat in the market with shares ending the day at 21 cents.
