The new product line will be made with non-animal milk protein from Remilk instead of cow’s milk protein. Remilk pioneered a yeast-based fermentation process that produces non-animal milk proteins for use in dairy products traditionally made with cow’s milk. Dairy products produced by precision fermentation require a fraction of the Earth’s resources and emit a fraction of the harmful greenhouse gas emissions of animal-based dairy products.
Remilk recently obtained self-affirmed GRAS status in accordance with the requirements of the United States Food and Drug Administration, paving the way for the sale of products made with Remilk non-animal dairy products in the United States.
