Belize Nurses Association thanks the Ministry of Natural Resources for handing over the first 50 land titles to its members

By Ruben Morales Iglesias: The Belize Nurses Association thanked the Ministry of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mines for the first 50 land titles given to its members.

“The Belize Nurses Association would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Deputy Prime Minister of Belize, the Honorable Cordel Hyde, and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mines on behalf of all nurses in Belize, who in as front-line workers, continue to defy risk in the face of covid 19 and other public health crises,” reads a press release issued Monday by the Belize Nurses Association.

The statement said Minister Hyde has set up a program which aims to provide all nurses with ‘purchase titles for a large land all over the country’.

The Nurses Association said submissions for land titles were made in 2021 and the ministry had issued 50 purchase titles during the first phase of the program.

“The minister and his department continue to work hand in hand with the Nurses Association of Belize to pursue the allocation of land to more nurses nationwide before the end of the year,” the minister said. press release from the Nurses Association.

The association said it is clear that this initiative will not remove current workforce challenges, but represents “a small but meaningful way to support and retain healthcare workers within the public system. and Belize”.

The Nurses Association statement concluded that the land initiative is a way to recognize and support the efforts of nurses and ensure they are there when they are needed most.
