LAHORE: The Punjab Finance Department has granted a loan of Rs 358.5 million to 12 Lahore High Court Judges for the construction of houses.
Approval for the loan was initially granted by the Standing Cabinet Committee on Finance and Development at its March 18 meeting.
As all 12 judges will retire in the next three to eight years, the government will continue to deduct loan payments from their salaries and later from their pensions.
The Finance Department paid Rs 29.875 million each to Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Raja Shahid Mahmood, Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan, Justice Masud Abid Naqvi, to Judge Muhammad Sajid, to Judge Tariq. Saleem Sheikh, Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry, Justice Anwaarul Haq Pannun and Justice Ms. Alia Neelum.
According to the order issued by the Secretary for Implementation and Coordination of the S&GAD, the loan was sanctioned after the approval of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development as an additional grant during the financial year. 2021-22.
The order states that the loan will be governed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the advance/home construction loans to be determined later.
